Character
The whole plant is greyish green in colour with a bitter taste slightly and characteristics odour.
Plant Morphology
- slender creeping herb with long-stalked leaf
- leaves are green, reniform, rounded apex and smooth texture
- flowers are very small with reddish petal and hermaphrodite
- fruits are small and mericarp in nature
Medicinal uses:
Uses described in folk medicine, not supported by experimental or clinical data
- traditionally used to treat albinism, anaemia, asthma, bronchitis, cellulite, cholera, constipation, dermatitis, diarrhoea, dizziness
- used as antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and a "brain tonic"
